Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Scholarship
Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council, Inc. is pleased to announce that it is offering one (1) scholarship valued at $1,000 for further education to a graduating high school senior in our council.
General guidelines for awarding this scholarship are as follows:
- Plans for full-time attendance at a college, university, trade or technical school.
- Recipient must be an active participant in Girl Scouting. This participation could include the following program pathways: camp, events, series, travel, troop, and virtual. In addition, participation may also include council and service unit involvement. Affiliation with a troop is not required.
- Recipient must demonstrate good academic progress and be serious about her education.
- Financial need may be considered as a tie-breaker in the later stages of selection, if necessary.

Voices of Freedom Essay Contest
The Ingram-White Castle Foundation and Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council, Inc. is pleased to announce the Voices of Freedom Essay Contest. Winners will be selected and five (5) scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded to the top five essay finalists.
The contest is for all Girl Scouts in the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council who were currently enrolled in grades 6-12, and who have achieved the Girl Scout Silver Award or Girl Scout Gold Award. The Girl Scout Silver Award can be earned by Girl Scout Cadettes including 6th graders and the Girl Scout Gold Award can be earned by Seniors and Ambassadors including 9th graders.
The scholarship must be used to further education at an accredited institution of higher learning (2 or 4 year college/university or trade school) upon completion of high school.
