You participate in Girl Scouting according to your grade. Click to more information on each grade level:
Girl Scout Daisy, Grades K-1
As a Girl Scout Daisy, you can go on short trips, learn about nature and science, and explore the arts and your community. It’s also a great way for you to make friends as you start school! You can earn Learning Petals, receive participation patches, and complete special Daisy Leadership Journeys books.
Girl Scout Brownie, Grades 2-3
As a Girl Scout Brownie, you learn about yourself, your family, friends, and the world around you. Brownies learn songs, sleep in tents, go on hikes, and tell stories around campfires. You can earn badges for learning new things and complete special Brownie Leadership Journeys books too. You may even exchange SWAPS (special homemade pin-ons) with new friends!
Girl Scouts Junior, Grades 4-5
As a Girl Scout Junior, you begin to practice leadership skills as you try new activities, like visiting a wildlife preserve, making a robot, or trying archery. You can earn badges while mastering new skills and completing special Junior Leadership Journeys books. You are eligible to earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award, too!
Girl Scout Cadette, Grades 6-8
As a Girl Scout Cadette, you can participate in national events and travel trips, and you’re eligible to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. You can work on badges that match your interests and talents and complete special Cadette Leadership Journeys books. Best of all, you’ll take on more responsibility for your activities and learn to set goals.
Girl Scout Senior, Grades 9-10
As a Girl Scout Senior, you plan activities with support from adult advisors and learn to be a leader by serving as a role model for younger girls. By completing Senior Leadership Journeys, you are eligible to work on the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting! You also may travel nationally and internationally.
Girl Scout Ambassador, Grades 11-12
As a Girl Scout Ambassador, you can complete special Ambassador Leadership Journeys. You also are eligible to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting, which qualifies you for college scholarships! You can even serve in leadership capacities at a council or national level.
