Girls are Going Places: Upcoming Trips
Spend a day with GSOH! Girls in grades 4-5 can Go Wild! with a special trip to The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden while working toward the Animal Habitats badge. Girls in grades 6-12 can get a Taste of Columbus, trying new cuisines with a focus on locally grown ingredients. Look for details in January 2015.
Girls in grades 6-12 can spend a few days of your 2015 holiday break Big Apple Bound with a trip to New York City! Once you register, you’ll get to help plan the trip. Watch for details in January 2015.
If you’ll be 15 in the summer of 2016, you won’t want to miss out on the Dominican Republic Immersion trip! With the help of local organizations, you’ll have an impact on issues ranging from gender equality to generational poverty to eco-tourism. A chocolate factory tour, a hike, and a rafting adventure help make this trip an unforgettable way to explore island life while making a meaningful difference in the community. Watch for details in January 2015.

The web site contains not only information about all of the national and international destination choices, but also additional travel information including:
- The application and reference forms, which girls can download
- Tips for writing application essays
- Tips for choosing a personal reference
Application forms are due Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Girls who are accepted for a destination will be notified by Friday, January 16, 2015. Deposits to reserve space for the destination will be due by Sunday, February 1, 2015.
A second round of application forms will be accepted for girls miss out on their chosen destination. The second round of forms will be due by Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Girls who are accepted during the second round will be notified by Friday, March 6, 2015. Deposits to reserve space will be due by Friday, March 20, 2015.
Completed application and reference forms for 2015 destinations can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, ATTN: destinations, 3230 Bowers Lane, Zanesville, OH 43701.
Global Leadership Opportunities
Girl Scouts offers young women between 18 and 35 Global Leadership Opportunities (GLO) to represent Girl Scouts of the USA at World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) leadership events and learning sessions.
